Gazit group - Latest Awards, Schoolarships and Honors:

March 2011 - The Kaye Innovation Award:

Prof. Dan Gazit has won the prestigious Kaye Innovation Award for his inventions dealing with: "Novel Technologies for Adult Stem Cell Manipulation and Applications in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine".

Prof. Gazit will receive the award in June 21st, 2011 at a ceremony to be held in the Givaat Ram Campus in Jerusalem. The Kaye Innovation Awards have been awarded annualy at the Hebrew University since 1994. Isaac Kaye of England, a prominent industrialist in the pharmaceutical industry, established the awards to encourage faculty, staff, and students of the University to develop innovative methods and inventions with promising commercial potential, which will benefit the University and society. Over the last 10 years, six graduate students from our lab have won the Kaye awards for their innovative inventions.


November 2010:

Graduate student
Ilan Kallai has been awarded with the 
"Israeli Ministry of Science scholarship (Eshkol)".

January 2010:

Graduate students
Olga Mizrahi and Ilan Kallai have been awarded with the "Minerva Short-Term Research Grant" by the Minerva Foundation (Max Planck Society, Germany).
Olga and Ilan will visit Prof. Ntziachristos' Medical Imaging Laboratory at Helmholtz Zentrum München and will perform several experiments in order to establish the collaboration between the two labs.



November 2009:

Graduate student Nadav Kimelman-Bleich  recieved a "Student Community Dental Health Project Award".

The award was presented by the Faculty of Dental Medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and was sponsored by COLGATE-PALMOLIVE Company.




August 2009:


Dr. Gadi Pelled recieved a "Travel Award for Young Scientist" for the 2009 World Molecular Imaging Congress, by the Institute of Molecular Imaging Sciences of the Academy of Molecular Imaging.

Gadi will present his abstracts
at the congress to be held this September 23-26 in Montreal, Canada.



May 2009:

Graduate student Olga Mizrahi recieved the "Dexxon Award - for the encouragement of young reserachers".
The award was presented during the research day of the dental sciences faculty, 2009.



June 2008 - The Kaye Innovation Awards:

Two of our graduate students won the "Kaye Innovation Awards" at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem: Nadav Kimelman-Bleich was awarded the second prize for his research on scaffolds with oxygen carriers and their use in tissue engineering; Dima Sheyn was awarded the third prize for his research on inducing bone formation in vivo using ultrasound-based non-viral gene delivery.

The Kaye Innovation Awards at the Hebrew University have been awarded annually since 1994. May 2008:

Graduate student Ilan Kallai received the "Teva's Elmex-Meridol Award - for encouragement of young reserachers".
The award was presented during the research day of the dental sciences faculty, 2008.




2007:

Graduate students
Nadav Kimelman-Bleich and Dima Sheyn won the "Rector’s scholarship for excellence" and the "Israeli Ministry of Science scholarship (Eshkol)".




Nadav Kimelman-Bleich has also won the "Foulkes foundation award".
